Health Standards Development Organizations
Refers to entities that establish and promote standards to meet specific health needs or objectives, such as health care through a process of consensus and participation at international, national, and / or regional levels. Generally, Health Standards Development Organizations serve as a lead organization responsible for creating and maintaining a specific standard or standards. For example, the health standard LOINC (Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes) is maintained by the Regenstrief Institute, a non-profit medical research organization affiliated with Indiana University.<br/>
